“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
The entire sweep of history hinges on a tiny window of time in the first century, and through that window we see a cross. All of history looks back at that moment, to the tragedy and triumph of that cross. First the crucifixion, then the resurrection of the Son of God. Those two events secure our eternal destiny! Thank you Father God for your Son and the Cross! “Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” 1 Peter 2:1-2
Because we are imperfect beings, we are sometimes envious of others. God’s Word warns us that envy is sin so we must guard ourselves against the natural tendency to feel resentment and jealousy when other people experience good fortune. We have absolutely no reason to be envious of any people on earth. After all, as Christians we are already recipients of the greatest gift in all creation, God’s grace. We have been promised the gift of eternal life through God’s only begotten Son, and we must count that gift as our most precious possession! Amen! “I will make them walk by streams of waters, on a straight path in which they will not stumble.” Jeremiah 31:9
Whatever form mistreatment takes, it hurts. You feel the rejection. You’ve done what is right, but you’ve been treated wrongly. In the midst of all this, remember God has not abandoned you. He has not forgotten you. He never left. He understands the heartache brought on by the evil He mysteriously permits so He might bring you to a tender, sensitive walk with Him. God is good. Jesus Christ is real, your present circumstances notwithstanding. Look up to Him, who is able to keep you. “I will sacrifice a thank offering to You and call on the name of the Lord.” Psalm 116:17
To really appreciate life we need to keep our enthusiasm alive! The gift of life must never be taken for granted or it becomes common and boring and we lose our sense of anticipation and vision for the future. Our daily existence can so easily degenerate into mindless drudgery. That is not the life God has for us as His children. Let’s take time to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of life through God. If we practice the art of appreciation, we can change our life into a beautiful and exciting adventure to honor, obey and glorify Jesus Christ. What are we taking for granted in our lives? In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “Now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:10
As a result of God’s mercy, we have become a people who are uniquely and exclusively cared for by God. The fact that we are the recipients of His mercy makes all the difference in the world as to how we respond to difficult times. He watches over us with enormous interest. Why? Because of His immense mercy, freely demonstrated in spite of our not deserving it. What encouraging news! "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." Mark 10:45
Jesus came to serve and to give. It makes sense to say God desires the same for us. After bringing us into His family through faith in His Son, the Lord sets His sights on building into us the same quality which made Jesus distinct from all others in His day. God is engaged in building into His people the same serving and giving qualities which characterized His Son, Jesus! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “Walk in His ways, and keep His decrees and commands, His laws and requirements, so that you may prosper in all you do.” 1 Kings 2:3
Very few people can honestly say success means nothing to them. For those who have a passionate desire to succeed, failure can be a bitter pill to swallow. So many lose confidence and even give up because they fear they will never obtain success. It is important to accept the fact, it is impossible to be successful through our own abilities. With Christ as our partner in life, we can rest assured everything we do will bring a deep and lasting sense of fulfillment through Him! God can order our steps, our hearts and mind! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10
We are to be a people who do good deeds. That's a very significant part of who we are as Jesus' followers. Let's look for the many opportunities which God places in our paths to bless others. Let's use all of these blessings to bring God glory! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “We pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:10
Oftentimes we seem to be bored or dissatisfied with life. Every moment of Jesus’ life on earth was filled with purpose and meaning, and in everything He did the will of the Father and brought glory and honor to His name. God expects us to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, right here and right now. As we enter into His holy presence often and allow Him to fill our life with new purpose, new goals and new joy. Let our attitude be the same as Jesus’. Fulfill His will and obey Him in all things and our life will yield a rich harvest that will glorify God. In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!" Mark 9:7
Who are we listening to in our life? We can hear all sorts of different voices, but we can follow only one. Who are we going to listen to as we make our decisions about morality, values, ethics, and character? Who has earned the right to be heard regarding life, death, salvation, and sin? God makes it unmistakably clear; we must listen to His Son Jesus! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! |
