“Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.” Psalm 79:9
There are times when God gets disgusted with our behavior and our lack of seeking after Him. There are moments when He acts to bless us only because we are His people and we wear His name. But, when we cry out, confessing our sins and shortcomings, He is still our Savior. Even when we are not what we should be, God can act out of compassion and preserve the glory of His name! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Sometimes the most profound truths are very simple. The power to reach the world for Christ involves God’s might through the Holy Spirit. He will enable us to be effective in sharing our faith and motivate us to reach our city, our region and our world with the Gospel of truth! God’s plan of beginning where we are and reaching out with our willingness to tell others what has been done for us in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
We fill our world with noise, if not the television or radio, it’s activities or our own thoughts. We expect to hear God through the turmoil, but are we really listening to Him? When our world is in an uproar, our best plan is to step away from the commotion and listen to Him. He speaks words of peace to our soul and strength to our life. Take a few minutes to seek Him in the quietness. Stand in His presence and know God is with you. His voice is the best sound you will hear all day! “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.” 1 John 5:4
On occasion, we all endure the disappointments and tragedies that befall believers and nonbelievers alike. The words above remind us that when we accept God’s grace, we overcome the passing hardships of this world by relying upon His strength, His love, and His promise of eternal life. When we face the difficulties of daily life, God stands ready to protect us. Our responsibility is to ask Him for protection. When we call on Him in heartfelt prayer, He will answer, in His own time and according to His own plan, and He will heal us. During our time of waiting for God’s plans to unfold, we can be comforted in the knowledge that He can overcome any obstacle. “When my life was ebbing away, I remembered You, Lord, and my prayer rose to You, to Your holy temple.” Jonah 2:7
As Christians, we deny ourselves the privilege of the peace of God simply because we feel too undeserving to talk to God. Not so! Jesus promised He will not cast out anyone who comes to Him. He also emphasized He didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners, to salvation. For such a sinner as I, even me Lord, even me!! Throughout scripture we read of His unfathomable Mercy, Grace and endless Love which reached out to all, the good and the bad, the worthy and the unworthy. However unworthy we may feel at this moment, reach out to Him in prayer! We can whisper to Him and give Him praise for every good and perfect work in our lives! God will take us by the hand and lead us, and no one or anything can snatch us from Him! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “God is…always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2
As humans we tend to describe our security in terms of the earthly things that make us feel safe. Our family, friends, home, job, church, community, and national resources usually make up our core infrastructure of protection. But what happens when those things tumble? The answer is God. Only God remains trustworthy and steadfast forever. He’s the only sure foundation for your security. “None of us lives to himself alone.” Romans 14:7
We always find time to do things we want to do, but are quick to find excuses for not doing the things we don’t want to do! Huh!! This happens in our spiritual lives also! If we are making excuses why we can’t pray or spend time with God, let’s ask ourselves why are we making excuses? Why is our prayer life without power? Why has our faith become a burden instead of an inspiration of hope and faith? Do we say, “Ouch! Me, Lord, me!” These situations happens when we no longer call out to God in prayer! And when we express our personal desires and not the praise and adoration to our Savior! True prayer broadens our spiritual and intellectual horizons and makes our relationship with the Savior more profound! Remember, it’s not about us, it’s ALL about God the Father! No prayer, no power! Little prayer, little power! Much prayer, much power, in the name of Jesus! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “So He left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.” Matthew 26:44
Sometimes as Christians we wonder why, if God is all-seeing and omniscient, why we still need to persevere in the discipline of prayer. We feel guilty about troubling God over and over with issues which He is already aware of. Remember, we often know about problems in people’s lives but we don’t intervene unless we are asked. If we feel we have a particular matter in our life which needs God’s intervention, bring it before Him! Remind Him of His promises and ask Him to take care of the situation. God will never tire of listening to you if you come to Him in the name of Christ! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.” Psalm 43:3
It isn’t about coming up with ways to serve God, what pleases Him is that you obey Him. He doesn’t want a relationship with you based on regulations; rather, He expects its foundation to be love. God would rather have a healthy, authentic relationship with you than watch you observe some sacred ritual. His way is higher than mere religion, so follow Him. He’ll teach you to really love Him. “Lord, teach us to pray.” Luke 11:1
Most Christians are aware of their inability to pray according to the will of God. Christ sacrificed Himself for us and gave Himself freely, but He will enrich your life only as far as you allow Him to. The depth and quality of our devotion to Him will be reflected in the strength of our prayer life. It doesn’t mean a thing to ask God for a meaningful and positive prayer life unless we do our share to develop it! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! |
