“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18
The revelation of God through Christ was a unique miracle. Man’s reaction to this manifestation of God’s love isn’t something which just happens in a person’s life only to be forgotten in the long run. The whisperings of the Holy Spirit will inspire us to develop an awareness of Christ’s indwelling presence. There is no end to our growth and development in Christ Jesus. The more we become aware of Christ’s presence, the greater our love for Him becomes. This growth is the life-giving energy of our Christlikeness, helping us to reach our fruit-bearing maturity in His kingdom. In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for You. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in times of distress.” Isaiah 33:2
Immediately after praying to God to save Israel, Isaiah describes Israel’s distress: the Assyrians rejected their petition for peace, Lebanon was destroyed and the plains of Sharon resembled a wilderness. Isaiah’s trust in God never faltered. He believed God’s promises that He would preserve Israel and deliver His people. Because of this Isaiah could believe the above verse with confidence. Like Isaiah, we can depend on God in times of distress and trouble. Call upon Him in such times and feel the strength which can only come from God, descend upon you! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! "For I fully expect and hope that...my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or I die.” Philippians 1:20
Honor. A word not respected in our society as it once was. In these days of suggestive attire, cohabitation without marriage, and tolerance for every behavior imaginable, it's hard to remember what “Honor” means. As Christians, our hope and expectation is to ‘Honor’ Christ with our lives, especially in the details. We are the only reflection of Jesus some people might ever see or speak to. In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.” Jeremiah 31:3
We get in a hurry when we don't wait on the Lord. We jump ahead and do rash things. We shoot from the hip; we run off at the mouth, and say and do things we later regret. When we wait on the Lord, He gets full control of our spirit. At such moments we're like a glove, and His hand is moving us wherever He pleases. In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “The grass withers, and the flower drops off, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24-25
Some despise the Bible, while others merely deny it. Still others distort it and have warped, misused, and abused it. But even though many actively oppose this book, the greatest enemy of the Word of God is the so-called Christian who simply ignores the Bible or disregards it. He gives only lip service to it. The things that keep us going are truth and conviction, the things we know are true. Feelings come and go, but God’s Word never wavers. Thank you Father God for Your ‘Word’! "He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.” Proverbs 16:20
When we find ourselves drowning in circumstances beyond our control; we can look to God’s promises to which we can cling, promises on which we can base our hope and not lose faith. Hope which is based on what we want or what we feel isn't an expression of faith. Our hope must be built on God's Word! He is the Solid Rock! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! "God is greater than our heart, and knows all things." 1 John 3:20
You and I are governed. The weather determines what we wear. The terrain tells us how to travel. Gravity dictates our speed, and health determines our strength. We may challenge these forces and alter them slightly, but we never remove them. God, our Shepherd, doesn't check the weather; He makes it. He doesn't defy gravity; He created it. God is what He is, the Great I Am. He has always been. He is an unchanging God, an uncaused God, and an ungoverned God! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.” Matthew 9:36
As a good shepherd, Jesus looked at humanity’s lost sheep who were scattered, frightened, and hungry. What He saw pulled at His heartstrings. He was full of tenderness for them. He had compassion for them. Just as these hurting people touched the heart of the Savior, so should hurting people today touch our hearts. |
