As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.’ James 2:26
By this definition, a lot of us claiming to be believers are really spiritual corpses. For faith to be real, it must express itself in service. Faith not only moves mountains; it moves believers to act in ways which honor God and bless others, demonstrating their thankfulness for God's incredible grace and mercy, which is sufficient each day! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “I will sacrifice a thank offering to You and call on the name of the Lord.” Psalm 116:17
To really appreciate life we need to keep our enthusiasm alive! The gift of life must never be taken for granted or it becomes common and boring and we lose our sense of anticipation and vision for the future. Our daily existence can so easily degenerate into mindless drudgery. That is not the life God has for us as His children. Let’s take time to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of life through God. If we practice the art of appreciation, we can change our life into a beautiful and exciting adventure to honor, obey and glorify Jesus Christ. What are we taking for granted in our lives? In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him.” Genesis 1:27
When it seems as if nothing in our life is working out, when loneliness takes a hold of us and despondency descends upon us, it is time to remember a few spiritual facts. We were created in the very image of God! We are spiritual beings with a rich spiritual heritage! We don’t need to be at the mercy of moods and emotions beyond our control. We have been created for spiritual greatness and when we live in the awareness of God’s presence, we shall be fulfilled! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." Mark 10:45
Jesus came to serve and to give. It makes sense to say God desires the same for us. After bringing us into His family through faith in His Son, the Lord sets His sights on building into us the same quality which made Jesus distinct from all others in His day. God is engaged in building into His people the same serving and giving qualities which characterized His Son, Jesus! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! “Walk in His ways, and keep His decrees and commands, His laws and requirements, so that you may prosper in all you do.” 1 Kings 2:3
Very few people can honestly say success means nothing to them. For those who have a passionate desire to succeed, failure can be a bitter pill to swallow. So many lose confidence and even give up because they fear they will never obtain success. It is important to accept the fact, it is impossible to be successful through our own abilities. With Christ as our partner in life, we can rest assured everything we do will bring a deep and lasting sense of fulfillment through Him! God can order our steps, our hearts and mind! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
This is war! We face a daily battle and it is not just with sin and temptation. We have a real foe whose desire for us is our destruction. But, our foe has already been defeated and his angels stand rebuked. Let's keep our spiritual vigor knowing we're not playing church but fighting for the Kingdom of God! In His Love, Do All You Can, While You Can, As Long As You Can, To All You Can….Have a Beautifully Blessed Day! Beware of no man more than of yourself; we carry our worst enemies within us.
Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. Psalm 51:8
After David’s moral collapse involving an affair with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband; God firmly disciplined him. David then, turned to Him in repentance and prayed, “Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice”. God’s chastening was so crushing that David felt like his bones were broken. .Yet he trusted that the God of grace could both repair his brokenness and rekindle his joy. In our own failure and sin, it’s a comfort to know that God loves us enough to pursue and restore us with His loving discipline. Father open our eyes to see our failings, open our hearts to receive Your discipline, and open our will to embrace Your loving purposes. When we fall, we pray that You will make us whole and restore our joy in You. Amen. “Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will listen to their cries and comfort them.” Psalm 10:17
When Goliath challenged Israel to send out its mightiest warrior for a duel, no one imagined that it would be David. David was a mere shepherd boy, completely unskilled in the issues of war. Nonetheless, God was with him, and Goliath was defeated. You may believe that only the wealthy, strong, or brave qualify for God’s help. God aids whoever calls on Him, honors Him, and entrusts themselves to His care. No matter what giant problem you face today, trust God to make you victorious. Commit to doing His will, and watch every obstacle crumble before you. “The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver, tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Psalm 12:6
It’s often been said that words cannot injure like a rock or a stick could, but the truth is that sometimes they wound you in a manner that’s far more dangerous. While physical abrasions heal, abrasions made by words can pierce the heart and fester. Years after you’ve forgotten they were said, abrasive words can cripple you in ways you don’t even realize. Yet God knows they’re there, and He looks upon you with compassion. He sends His Word to heal you, to root out the wounding words and restore you. Other people may hurt you with their words but God never will. Trust Him and allow His Word to do its uplifting work in your life! |
