“Which of you by worrying can add one whit to his stature?” Matthew 5:27
Worry is a complete waste of energy. It solves nothing. That’s why Jesus said, “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” In essence, He was saying, “You go to bed tonight and fret and fuss because you’re not five feet eleven inches , you’re only five feet nine inches. But when you wake up in the morning, you’re still going to be five feet nine inches.” Worry will never make you stretch. And it won’t resolve that anxiety on your mind either. May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. May those who love your salvation say evermore, ‘God is great.’” Psalm 70:4
Some days we may struggle with how to pray for others, especially if they’re facing challenging circumstances. We want God’s will to be accomplished because we know ultimately it will be best for them. Yet, we don’t want them to experience hardship. What do we do? Pray whatever God’s plan is for them so they will trust Him more through it, and they will find joy and strength in Him and seek Him daily. Pray they will know for certain that He is great, loving, and wise! Whatever our loved ones are facing, our best prayer for them is they would know Him better! May all who seek our Father rejoice and say for evermore God is truly good! Live in Your God-given Blessings Today! “If your life honors the name of Jesus, he will honor you.” 2 Thessalonians 1:12 MSG
Some friendships help us honor God and these should be nurtured, other friendships place us in situations where we are tempted to disobey Him; these friendships have the potential to do us great harm. Because we tend to become like our friends, we must choose our friends carefully. Because our friends influence us in ways that are both subtle and powerful, we must ensure that our friendships are pleasing to God. “Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders; he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out. He’ll never let good people topple into ruin.” Psalm 55:22
Always make your loved ones a priority in your life. And understand sometimes God will use circumstances to prevent you from helping them when they’re struggling. Whether it’s because of distance, health, responsibilities, or even relational barriers, God may have allowed the separation to keep you from interfering in what He’s teaching them. You may want to shoulder a burden only He can carry for them or He is refining their character through their troubles. Whatever the case, shift your worries about them toward God. He’s able to care for them better than you. Keep praying and let Him work! |
